Bird Alone

Game Review

Android App - Paid

I paid for this myself

SPOLIERS

I saw a kerfluffle about this game online, and read up on it.

Before downloading i surmised the game had a bird, who you befriended, and then one day he died and did NOT come back and people were heartbroken and upset as all get out with the developers.

To me this indicated a VERY well written game

I had to play it, even though i know the ending.

The bird was very enthusiastic, and fully grown

For a month or so i could go hand out and we'd do things (he gets you to help him write poems, make art, make music) the world expands and grows as you spend time together.

The options for dialog were very A or B no intermediary (example i am great or poor, no meh)

either way i enjoyed the bird friend

then, one day i knew it was coming - the game gives subtle hints, but i was aware to look for them

the next day the bird said it was his last day, it was very sad

After that i logged in a few times, no bird, but our art and the world were still there.

overall 100% glad i bought and played the game.

Also it seems based on the upset of the people the devs have added an option to restart. I am not ready to restart as i am enjoying looking back on the memories i had with my bird friend.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.GeorgeBatchelor.BirdAlone&hl=en_CA&gl=US

https://www.forbes.com/sites/andyrobertson/2021/03/17/bird-alone-is-getting-heartbreaking-reviews-on-the-app-store-but-thats-a-good-thing/?sh=7cf2b74c748d

https://www.georgebatchelor.com/birdalone/

comments
